Personal Details
By booking a place, the handler agrees to be contacted by email, phone or post about the session. Mantrailing Dogs Wales will store the contact details but will not share them with third parties beyond the requirements of event management.
Cancellation
On the rare occasion that a session/workshop is cancelled by us due to instructor’s illness, unsuitable weather or it being under-subscribed, we aim to inform the handlers within at least one week of the session date. A full refund of the cost of the session will be issued, less payment processing fees if charged by our payment handling provider. Please note that we cannot accept liability beyond the session fee, hence refunds do not include expenses or accommodation. However, most of our workshops and sessions will go ahead in any weather. Please make sure that your dog is comfortable to work in all weathers. Bring plenty of water especially in the warmer weather, or a coat for the dog to wear should he/she get wet in the rain to wear while resting in the car.
Bookings are non-refundable, if you cannot attend for any reason we will transfer to another date, maximum three transfers.
Certificates of attendance
While we don’t issue certificates automatically for sessions and workshops, we may be able to provide handlers with one on request. If handlers do require one, they need to get in touch at least two weeks before the workshop/session.
Practicalities
Should handlers arrive early, note that the organisers and instructors may not be there more than 20 minutes before start of the session. We recognise that some handlers travel from further away and where toilet facilities are available we will do our best to make those facilities available earlier. Should you be running late, please send a short text message or give us a call to let us know. Please make sure you are dressed appropriately for the session as it is an outdoor event and have the necessary equipment as well as food and drink as some of our venues are in very remote areas.
Parking Fees apply in some of our venues and are to be paid by the participant. Some of the venues have height barriers. Please make us aware when booking your place, if you have a high roof vehicle to make sure we use venues you are able to access.
Liability and insurance
Mantrailing Dogs Wales does not take any responsibility for any illness, accident or harm done to person or dog, building or vehicle including personal belongings during their session. It is your responsibility to ensure you have the correct insurance to cover your dog.
Mantrailing Dogs Wales will ensure all precautions are taken to avoid injury during their sessions but accepts no responsibility resulting from any dogs actions.
Workshop/Session length
Session times are given in an approximate and not guaranteed to last as long as or end exactly on the end time. Mantrailing is dependant on the trails so could be shortened with less participants. Dogs will only be worked within their capacity in sessions. This may mean you leave with ‘homework’ or follow on tasks to complete at home or on the next session. No extra time, nor refund is offered upon completion of the session. Clients who are late to a session/workshop will have to join at the time they attend. Mantrailing Dogs Wales is not eligible to make up for any missed hours or days due to this.
Mantrailing Dogs Wales will apply professional judgement and cut short any training session or workshop if necessary. This is including but not exclusive to
Dog Care
All teams are worked individually, please ensure you dog is happy to be left in your vehicle when not being trained.
All dogs attending should be fully protected by vaccination (boosters at the required intervals or titre testing). Do not bring a bitch in season or a sick dog to a workshop/session.
If your dog is reactive, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you cannot bring it to the session, but please contact us to discuss before you book/register.
During a workshop, keep your dog close, under control and on a lead. Don’t allow your dog to approach other dogs or people and do not approach other dogs yourself without permission from the handler. The instructor has the right to remove a dog and handler from the session, if they feel the handler is not managing their dog well enough, therefore putting other handlers and their dogs at risk. Handlers are responsible for their dog’s welfare during a workshop and should discuss with the instructor, any concerns they have got in relation to a prepared exercise.
Harsh or unkind handling will not be tolerated. If it continues, after the handler been approached about their unacceptable handling, the dog and owner will be asked to leave.
Should your dog relieve themselves before or while working, anywhere in or outside the training area, please clean up and take the waste to the nearest bin. As far as possible, encourage your dog to relieve itself before work. However, do not exercise your dog in the training venues before the session. Handlers need to make sure they carry poo bags at all times.
